Roman North African Terracotta Bowl bactria By the 16th centuryThe Roman Empire, c. 200400 AD A handsome wheel thrown redware terracotta bowl, characteristic of Roman North African pottery. The vessel features a deep hemispherical body with gracefully curving convex sides, a thin, neatly defined lip, and an outsplayed ring base with a smoothly rounded edge. Formed from a light cream fabric with mica inclusions, the surface is coated in a now heavily worn, thin brick red slipa hallmark of Roman fineware
