So I did just this very thing
Instead of working the dress in one piece, you create multiple African flower squares and join them together
The outer fabric is floaty and lightweight with a full lightweight lining, and the feminine ruched shoulders and sleeves give it a little structure
Then, I added red striped stockings and accessories from a pig kit (nose, ear headband and a tail) that I easily found on Amazon to complete my teacher book character costume transformation to Olivia the pig
