In 1964, Panton conceived the Fun collection out of the desire to create a light that not only diffused light effectively but also made a bold statement in any space. Originally, Panton experimented with metal discs for the design but later switched to mother of pearl after encountering seashells during a beach stroll in Malaysia. The Fun 1TM table light epitomises Panton's connection to the natural
