While I can imagine situations where the ability is amazing and allows you to kill two opponents out of nowhere and win the game, this still requires getting in combat damage, not just with a single creature, but with your entire team

Playing another Shrine means you get to add another +1/+1 counter to all your creatures, letting them slowly grow over the course of the game
