When running this Pre-Con, your primary focus should be creating a number of tokens while getting other creatures onto the field with abilities that trigger when playing non-creature spells
As for the Pirate Ship, having a way to return a Pirate character from your discard to your hand is always handy, even if you only use it once on a key card
So, after picking the scraps of my ego off the floor, I decided to select Air, Land, and Sea: Critters at War, which is somehow eligible for this list even though Unmatched isnt
The mechanic saves you from really having to cast self-mill spells at all: you just mill a little to get them into your graveyard, then start replacing draws for free chunks of three, four, or five cards flipped over from library to grave
Why its a contender: It is arguably the most efficient and unconditional creature removal spell ever printed, permanently handling any threat for a single mana
