The obvious play pattern of swapping the textbox of, lets say a Crab, with Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, but Id rather turn planeswalkers or artifacts into creatures and swap the planeswalkers ability with one of my creatures
These both require more resources than blue or green need, and/or they require spending the resources required to try to find the win

Since you do want to open with Polymerization or Dark Fusion, unlike Frightfur Fusion, because it facilitates the decks motion, I figured it would make sense to replace the 3rd Frightfur Fusion with the 2nd Dark Fusion, thus leaving me with the 2-2-2 line and maintaining the same semi-standard 6 fusion spell lineup
Life gain has been a necessity in mono-black to keep up with its own demands
This is stronger than the usual "Blood Artist" effect we get at lower rarities
