It's worth prefacing what the deck is trying to achieve the combination of any creature, artifact, or land that taps for 2 or more mana, Volo with 2 creature types marked in his Journal, and Mind Over Matter will allow a player to draw essentially through their library, at which point one of many infinite mana combos (Rings of Brighthearth + a Monolith is the obvious) alongside a way to generate infinite creatures or artifacts (Treasure Vault or James, Wandering Dad // Follow Him) will kill the table via Street Urchin

Even if they could pay for one creature or perhaps a staggering for two, it likely wouldn't be worth it, as you could just Repulse one of them back to hand and block the other

I just don't think it plays well

Once that choice is made, players may not respond until after the appropriate room ability has triggered

If another effect causes one of the returned permanents to become a creature and sets its power and toughness as it does so, that creature will have that power and toughness
