Archmages Charm is extremely pushed, a solid permission spell, a good way to build card advantage for hitting land drops, and a fantastic tool against Deaths Shadow, Wild Nacatl, Goblin Guide, Pyxis of Pandemonium, Champion of the Parish, Aether Vial, Delver of Secrets, Hardened Scales, Amulet of Vigor, Benthic Biomancer, Glistener Elf, Noble Hierarch, Viscera Seer, and sometimes even Hexdrinker (just to mention a few)
The Amonkhet duals like Canyon Slough and Fetid Pools enter tapped, but you can cycle them away when you dont need them
This is an easy add to Grixis Affinity, and may even warrant a blue splash in other artifact-focused decks too
I remember flipping it around in my hands as a kid but didnt make much of it
This isnt the deck with Seedborn Muse in it, but you could go that route anyway, making an 8/8 during everyones turn for no mana
On its own, this shouldnt even be a commander, but the background ability helps bring it to new life
